Project B02

B02 Photon driven energy transfer across correlated interfaces

The main goal of this project is to study fundamental mechanisms of energy conversion at interfaces between perovskite oxides, where quasiparticle lifetimes, diffusion lengths and related photovoltaic energy conversion are controlled by tuneable correlations. The project was successful in demonstrating hot polaron photovoltaics in several orbital and charge ordered perovskite oxides and now aims for a comprehensive understanding of the suggested mechanisms of hot polaron stabilization. It aims for a further extension of the applicability of hot-polaron stabilization mechanism and study of polaron transfer across interfaces of the photovoltaic junctions by using in-situ TEM methods and in cooperation theoretical projects.
